Named after Beba
Villa Beba is not a hotel and was never meant to be one. It is a house built by the family, for the family, looked after and lived in, and now it opens its doors to the world.
A house built by hand
The first part of the estate was bought back in the 1980s. The ground floor was built by hand, using techniques passed down through the generations.
The walls are made of Sljeme stone, the green schist that is the geological symbol of Medvednica. It has not been quarried since 1920, which makes the house even more unique.

She took most of the photographs of the estate. Unfortunately, she also had a unique talent for getting a finger into every single frame.
Why the house carries her name
Our Tonka, better known as Beba, was the heart and soul of the estate. She made sure all that natural beauty came with the smell of home cooking. She called everyone to lunch with a little help from a walkie-talkie, and made sure we always left with full stomachs, full hearts and food for the road.
She and our grandfather made sure that every corner of the estate showed the care they put into it. When we named the estate, there was only one name it could carry.

Every season changed the house
In autumn, the leaves create a unique mosaic of colour. In winter, the snow turns the estate into a winter wonderland, while spring and summer bring out the very best of it.

Forty years in the making
Around the estate grows a botanical collection of plants and trees gathered from all over the world, the result of four decades of hard work and dedication, alongside a variety of seasonal fruit and vegetables.
Today the estate stretches across 10,000 m² of gardens and forest, with a pond and a waterfall, and terraces that each reveal a different corner of the garden. In the orchard behind the house stands an old apiary, where two swarms of bees have settled of their own accord.
